A few noteworthy pedigrees in the upcoming Fasig-Tipton Sale

The first day of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Old sale is underway, where 487 two-year-olds are scheduled to sell. I’ve looked through the catalog and will be talking about five horses with interesting pedigrees who I think might prove to be nice horses coming out of this sale. As always, these selections are based strictly on pedigree and should not be considered a recommendation to buy a horse, but are meant to provide some insight into how I look at pedigrees. These horses are listed in rough order of preference.

Hip #552 - f. Arrogate x Twixy (Mutakddim)

This daughter of Arrogate is from the female family of his damsire Distorted Humor, and I expect her to be fairly popular at this sale after working in 10 seconds flat. Both Distorted Humor and Twixy trace tail-female to The Apple, a very important taproot mare who counts the likes of Forego, Bull Lea, Bold Forbes, Nellie Flag, Nellie Morse, Slew of Gold, Saratoga Six, and countless other stakes winners among her tail-female descendants.
